Undocumented Feature in Facebook AppRequest Dialog

I just notice that there is a undocumented property “new_style_message” for the App Request Dialog in JavaScript SDK’s FB.ui.

If you invoke the appRequest dialog by using the following code:

FB.ui({method: 'apprequests',
       title: 'I want to join the game',
       message: 'want you to join the game',
       to: appRequestToIDs,
       new_style_message : 'true',
     },sendAppRequestPostProcessing );

Then you will notice that the standard app request message “{user_name} sent you a {appName} request: {message}” is now replaced by “{user_name} {detailMessage} in {appName}”.

Take a look at the appRequest dialog and you just cannot find this feature! https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/dialogs/requests/
I have searched for this option in other pages within documentatation. However, this cannot be found too.

  1. It looks like this feature has been disabled few days ago. Are you experiencing the same?

  2. Divick says:

    This feature has stopped working lately as it was anyways an undocumented feature.
