Graph API: All id fields returned by POST calls will be typed as strings.

In the latest Platform Update : Developer Love, it is mentioned that:

We also updated the Developer Roadmap, where we document previously announced technical changes so developers can plan accordingly.

Though I am not sure what exactly has been updated, please pay attention to the “Migration” notes. The one that gets my attention is,

  • Graph API: All id fields returned by POST calls will be typed as strings.

Early, there are cases where an id field is returned as a floating point number (which is expressed in the ‘E’ format) and to get the proper format for later uses, we need to convert it to a string format by ourselves.  This update with save us some work in the future…. but please remember to test your existing applications as probably we have to remove the conversion logic.
